Vanecia Belser Kimbrow, Esq. is an accomplished attorney, civic leader, and community advocate whose career spans law, public service, higher-education governance, and regional economic development.
First appointed to the Shelby County Election Commission in 2021, she currently serves as Secretary, working to strengthen public trust in the electoral process and expand civic engagement across Shelby County.
Kimbrow brings decades of leadership experience to her role. She serves as Chair of the Board of Trustees at LeMoyne-Owen College, Memphis’s historic HBCU, guiding institutional stewardship, academic excellence, and long-term strategy. She is the Past President of the River City (TN) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, and previously served as the organization’s National Director for International Special Projects, advancing global initiatives in education, health, and cultural empowerment. She is also the Past President of the Memphis Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., and made history as the first Tennessee State Social Action Coordinator for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. In recognition of her impact and leadership, she was honored as a 2025 Super Woman in Business by the Memphis Business Journal.
Her educational foundation includes a Bachelor of Science in Sales & Marketing and a Juris Doctor from the University of Memphis — the latter earned at the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. Her professional background includes significant contributions to major civic and economic developments. She served as General Counsel for the Bailey Station Association, guiding the development and sale of land to Cummins Inc. in Collierville, Tenn. As Special Counsel to the Memphis and Shelby County Public Building Authority, she supported the construction and development of the FedEx Forum. Today, she is the Chief Manager of The Law Office of Vanecia Belser Kimbrow, where her practice focuses on corporate law and governance, real estate, and trusts and estates. Attorney Kimbrow previously served as the District IV Commissioner on the Shelby County Board of Education, representing families in one of the district’s most diverse areas. Her lifelong advocacy reflects her deep commitment to seniors, children, housing equity, economic opportunity, and civic participation in both the United States and Jamaica.
Deeply rooted in family, she treasures time with her adult children and their beloveds.
