Commissioner Frank Uhlhorn joined the Shelby County Election Commission in October of 2019. He is a lifelong Memphian and graduated from Christian Brothers High School in 1970. Uhlhorn majored in political science and graduated from the University of Memphis 1974.
He has worked all his life as a homebuilder and is owner of Frank Uhlhorn Construction Company.
He has been active in his community government for many years. He currently serves on the Germantown Board of Zoning Appeals.
He served as an alderman for the City of Germantown for 14 year, as well as on many Germantown City commissions including City Beautification, Personnel Advisory, Environmental, Animal Control, Planning and Design Review and the Historic commission.
Uhlhorn is also dedicated to community service. He delivered Meals on Wheels for MIFA and was a member of the Phoenix Club, the Germantown Rotary Club, the Dixie Home Boys Club and has served on the Tennessee Municipal League. Uhlhorn was president of the Dogwood Grove Homeowners Association in 1994.
He has served for two terms on the board of directors for the Memphis Area Home Builders Association and has been a long-time board member of the Germantown Chamber of Commerce.
Landmark Bank, where he was also one of the founders. He also served on the Advisory Board of Enterprise Bank and on the board of directors of the Bodine School.
In 2017, Uhlhorn was inducted into the Christian Brothers High School Hall of Fame.
